Lesson Series for School Students According to the instructions by H.E. the
President and the directives of Hon. State Minister, State Ministry of Skills
Development, Vocational Education, Research and Innovation intends to develop
and telecast 30 minutes video programs using different television channels as
guidance and promotion of Technical and Vocational Education and Training
(TVET) among school students. This TV program Series is especially targeted at
students in Grade 7, 8 and 9, who are willing to pursue their future
careers through the TVET Sector.
These
lesson series will be offered through Learning Management System (LMS) and
telecasted in parallel to TV lesson series to provide awareness and skills
development in selected fields. In the first phase, four fields namely
Electrical, ICT and Refrigeration and Air-conditioning fields were selected to
offer considering the upward mobility with introductory skills in these
technology sectors.
Technical
modules of the foundation skills will be selected to deliver initially for the
first 6 months period. Students will be provided with the opportunity to
register online for the courses and after 6 months there will be an online
knowledge assessment based on the module content. Students who obtain cognitive
achievement will be directed for practical sessions in accredited training
centers on a part-time basis. Students who excel in respective vocational
pathways will be guided to higher qualifications later by providing necessary
guidance, practical exposure and industrial training.
TV
program content is included in LMS and Facebook pages of the Ministry and
videos will be uploaded to a dedicated YouTube channel. Three programs per week
with 30 minutes duration will be telecasted during week-days and week-ends.
Students who excelled theory content will be called for practical arrangements
at TVEC registered center. After successful at the practical assessment,
students will be offered a valuable certificate.
